Who can be an AAFPS member?
Membership in the Australasian Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery (AAFPS) is open to qualified specialists from the Australasian region.
Current members of the Academy include specialist otolaryngologists, head and neck surgeons, ophthalmologists, dermatologists, general plastic surgeons and maxillofacial surgeons.

Online subscription to the Facial Plastic Surgery & Aesthetic Medicine (FPSAM), formerly JAMA Facial Plastic Surgery. AAFPS members gain free access to this journal online. Browse the topics available at www.liebertpub.com/fpsam. FPSAM is one of the leading journals in the field of plastic surgery. Annual subscription is valued at US$225.
Monthly Webinars for members. The webinars are CPD approved and focus on instructional style lectures aimed at illustrating techniques and advanced concepts. A lively discussion follows each presentation.
Networking and knowledge sharing. Membership of the Academy opens up immense networking, knowledge and resource sharing, research and other professional opportunities to its members
Improved public relations opportunities and your own profile page on the Academy website. All members of the Academy receive indirect benefits from PR activities undertaken by the AAFPS.
Members are listed in the Membership Directory on the Academy website. Your name, qualifications, primary specialty, areas of interests and contact details are displayed on the membership directory. Each member gets a profile page.
Visitors to the AAFPS website can search the directory by surgeon name, specialty and practice location.
Discounted membership rates, with CPD approval, to workshops, seminars and conferences organised by the AAFPS.
Advocacy. When required, the AAFPS will lobby peak medical and health organisation to support member entitlements and aspirations.
Member prices for AAFPS products: Whenever the AAFPS launches or endorses any printed or multimedia products or practice-enhancement products, members will be eligible for special discounted rates.
International opportunities. The Academy is a founding member of the International Federation of Facial Plastic Surgery Societies. While individual surgeons cannot be members of the IFFPSS, you can indirectly receive the benefits of the IFFPSS through your AAFPS membership. Benefits include:
- Discounted member rates for attendance to IFFPSS-sponsored meetings and courses.
- Possibility of participating in IFFPSS-sponsored observational fellowships.
