Dr Roland Sim

Dr Roland Sim Song Teck is a certified Otolaryngologist or Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) Surgeon. He is a native Singaporean and received his basic medical education and surgical training in Singapore.

After completing his surgical training, Dr Sim joined the Department of Otolaryngology, National University Hospital (NUH) Singapore. While working there, he met Professor James Smith, who was from the Department of Otolaryngology, Oregon Health Sciences University (OHSU).

In the 1990s, the NUH Department of Otolaryngology wanted to upgrade its Facial Plastic services, and in preparation for that, Professor Smith arranged for Dr Sim to be attached to the Facial Plastic Surgery section of the OHSU Department of Otolaryngology. The service was staffed by Dr Ted A Cook and Dr Tom D Wang, two prominent Facial Plastic Surgeons.

When Dr Sim returned from Oregon, Professor Smith retired from OHSU and joined NUH. Both of them worked to expand the Facial Plastic services of the department.
