AAFPS Membership

Who can be an AAFPS member?

Membership in the Australasian Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery (AAFPS) is open to qualified specialists from the Australasian region.

Current members of the Academy include specialist otolaryngologists, head and neck surgeons, ophthalmologists, dermatologists, general plastic surgeons and maxillofacial surgeons.

Why should you become a member of the AAFPS?

The Academy is the only specialist group in Australasia focusing solely on face, head and neck surgery. When you become a member of the AAFPS, you are joining a group of dedicated professionals committed to excellence in their respective fields, and who welcome knowledge sharing as an essential part of their professional experience.

Networking and knowledge sharing: Membership of the Academy opens up immense networking, knowledge sharing, research and other professional opportunities to its members.

Improved public relations opportunities and your own profile page on the Academy website: All members of the Academy receive indirect benefits from PR activities undertaken by the AAFPS.

All members are listed in the Membership Directory on the Academy website. Your name, qualifications, areas of specialisation and contact details will be listed in the membership directory, which presents a profile page for each member. Profiles of members who are interested in teaching and speaking opportunities will mention their areas of interest.

Visitors to the AAFPS website can search the directory by surgeon name, specialty and practice location.

Discounted membership rates: You will receive discounted rates and priority reservations over non-members for participation in all workshops, seminars and conferences organised by the AAFPS.

Member prices for AAFPS products: Whenever the AAFPS launches or endorses any printed or multimedia products or practice-enhancement products, members will be eligible for special discounted rates.

International opportunities: The Academy is a founding member of the International Federation of Facial Plastic Surgery Societies. While individual surgeons cannot be members of the IFFPSS, you can indirectly receive the benefits of the IFFPSS through your AAFPS membership. Benefits include:

  • Discounted member rates for attendance to IFFPSS-sponsored meetings and courses.
  • Possibility of participating in IFFPSS -sponsored observational fellowships.
  • Access to IFFPSS administrative support on socioeconomic matters and legal consultations.
  • Overall benefit from IFFPSS public relations activities.
