Topic: Informed consent for Rhinoplasty and the impact of smoking: reality and published data.  Reported rates of revision surgery, unsatisfactory outcome and the effects of smoking on Rhinoplasty and elective cosmetic Surgery.

Smoking before and after any surgical procedure is known to increase risks to the patient and healing. Here we look specifically at smoking and its impacts on rhinoplasty and cosmetic procedures. Additionally, no procedure is 100% nor can a surgeon guarantee a patient perceived outcome. What should patients expect from a surgeon wrt smoking advice, revision surgery and unsatisfactory outcomes?

Manual Lymph Drainage for pre and post plastic surgery

You may have heard of the Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD), developed by Dr Vodder to treat lymphoedema. It’s widely recommended by plastic surgeons in Europe and the USA to improve healing and reduce the recovery time after surgery.
