Otoplasty, or ear surgery, rectifies the
problem of protruding ears or reducing the
size of the ears.
Recipients most likely to benefit from
this surgery are children, in a bid to avoid
teasing. Surgery can be carried out on children
as young as four as ears are usually fully
developed by this age.
Adults who have spent a lifetime hiding
protruding ears may also benefit from otoplasty.
Other problems such as lop ear, cup ear
and shell ear can also be rectified by ear
surgery.
